Making his debut in Prog 127 (by Pat Mills and Brendan McCarthy), Steelhorn was supposed to be the most handsome ABC Warrior ever created, although the rather demonic design leaves something to be desired...

For most of the series, The Mess was kept in a vacuum flask (left), carried by Mongrol, and that was usually how we saw him. On the rare occasions he was released, however, artistic interpretations didn't vary much - there are only so many ways you can draw a molten mess, after all... Both images by Mike McMahon. |

| At the end of the series, The Mess was left on Mars, and forgotten about for the next twenty or so years. However, when The Warriors returned to the red planet, Steelhorn was resurrected and made his grand re-appearance in Prog 1241 (by Pat Mills and Mike McMahon)... |
