ABC Warriors

Quite possibly the only member of The Warriors who's never changed is FRED2L, otherwise known as Ro-Jaws. Without a doubt, the ex-sewer droid is one of O'Neill's more bizarre designs. The most striking thing about Ro-Jaws is his, well...jaws, and here it's pretty obvious to see that O'Neill sourced his design from botanical close-ups of a leech's mouth, to which Ro-Jaws bears an uncanny resemblance...

From his very first appearance in Starlord #1 (left, art by Kevin O'Neill) to his last appearance in Prog 1280 (right, Art by Dave Gibbons), Ro-Jaws has remained pretty much the same throughout...

Whether the artist be Simon Bisley... ...Clint Langly... ...Bryan Talbot...
...Carlos Ezquerra... ...Steve Dillon... ...or Carl Critchlow...

...the ex-sewer droid continually retained his distinctive features - even for his triumphant return in Nemesis Book 4: The Gothic Empire...
Art by Kevin O'Neill

As you can see from the images above, later artists gave the teeth a more piranha-like sawblade style, but O'Neill's formative design of a boiler with shark's teeth and a leech mouth remains almost completely unevolved. Who knows, maybe he has something in his contract that forbids any artist to give him a facelift. Whatever the case, it renders Internet pages about his various designs pretty much irrelevant.

Honourable mentions, then, go to Kevin Walker and David Hill...
Walker produced a fully painted Ro-Jaws for Khronicles of Khaos and Hellbringer, showing him in all his green glory, but the character was gradually faded out and packed off to limbo for the forseeable future. Hill produced this original image for the cover of Best of 2000AD Monthly #83.
