The damaged look continued into Khronicles of Khaos, but Kevin Walker's take lost some of the edge...

However, notice the starved, wrinkled look to Hammerstein's cheeks here. This continues the general theme, started by O'Neill, that although The Warriors are metallic, they can be given the full run of human expressions, decline and wear, which in itself was an innovation.

One repair job later, and Hammerstein was back on track, even if Walker went a little over the top with the muscles
here...

With Hellbringer, however, Walker took Hammerstein into his 'scrap metal phase,' with the loss of his shoulder pad and the severely dented body work. Like his bulky 'Schwarzenegger Hammerstein' above, he still manages to make the look work.

However, it doesn't explain how Hammerstein could hide such a long chin so well under his helmet...

When Walker went off to Hollywood to work on the Dredd film, Jason Brashill stepped in to provide a very Kevin Walker-esque Hammerstein for the Dredd tale Hammerstein (left and below).

On the left is an original design for the look of the robot, while on the right is the finished product, immortalised on a Judge Dredd trading card.
