Over the last twenty years, The ABC Warriors have changed, not just in terms of line-up and character, but also physically. As 2000AD's resident art assistant (and mek-maker), it was Kevin O'Neill's robot rebel designs in the early Judge Dredd Robot Wars saga that really broke the mould of the tired and antiquated boilers-with-arms-and-legs approach that had previously dominated robot design worldwide. His imagination did not hold back when it came to creating The Warriors, and his sheer glee at breaking new ground with them is obvious in each character's look.
Each new artist that signs up for a fresh bout of heavy metal mayhem take those original ground breaking designs, and builds on them, bringing in their own unique interpretation of the characters; some are subtle changes, while others are radical re-designs of The Mek-Nificent Seven.
