ABC Warriors Joe Pineapples ABC Warriors

"A cold, clinical killer..."

    "An expert in his field."

      "The ultimate assassin."

'Just checking they're dead' by Simon Bisley

Joe Pineapples, unquestionably the coolest and most laid back of The Warriors, was a member of the elite X-Terminators, a squad made up of the best robot assassins Earth's forces had to offer. He was kicked out of the team for behaving like a human. Although no details of his dismissal were released, rumour has it an officers wife was involved.

His obvious talents made him perfect for the Mars mission, and the capture of The Straw Dogs leader, Blackblood. When The Warriors caught up with the infamous butcher, it fell to Joe to shoot Blackblood through the heart, a fact that both haven't forgotten. After Mars, Pineapples wound up working as an instructor for the police in London, and had the rather unpleasant task of stopping Hammerstein when he received a knock on the head and went on the rampage, believing he was still fighting the Volgan War.

Joe's career with the police continued, and on the free robot planet of Mekka, he worked as an undercover officer. He was eventually put on the black list for pursuing human criminals with too much zeal. It's unclear when his hatred of humans (or 'meatheads') began to manifest itself, but it's known that his relationship with social programmer, Ms. Aphrodite Von Boo, didn't help to curb his tendancies. Nor is it clear when he began to wear human clothes. This may have begun during a party on Mekka, where he was caught on camera dressed in something...more feminine - something which Blackblood knew all about, having been in possession of the negatives. Pineapples apparently did it in an attempt to experience something new, having become jaded with re-building himself time and time again.

At the request of Nemesis The Warlock, Joe handed in his badge and ended his illustrious career with the Mekka Police and joined the battle to save The Gothic Empire. The Warriors continued their fight against The Terminators, before following Nemesis into into The Time Wastes of Termight to find The Warlock's offspring. He was dispatched into The Time Wastes with the others to repair the damage Thoth had done and save the galaxy.

It was during this journey that things finally came to a head between Blackblood and Joe. After helping Deadlock sabotage their attempts to save Terra, Blackblood and Joe went toe to toe. For Pineapples it was a chance to get the negatives back, and for Blackblood it was a chance to finally discover what Joe had been hiding in his chest locker for the entire journey. As it turned out, the mystery item was a human heart; Joe was carrying it in a desperate bid to feel, so he could enjoy killing again, just like his days with the X-Terminators.

After escaping to the planet Hekate, Pineapples helped collect the seven heads needed for the ritual that would spread Khaos through the galaxy, but suffered a breakdown as the 'Night of the Blood Moon' approached. Deadlock took it upon himslef to perform an unnecessary operation on Joe, to give him a much more Khaotic outlook on life - and unlock his repressed desires for more...exotic clothing. After their victory on Hekate, The Warriors went their seperate ways, and Pineapples, sick of being on the dole for Khaos, signed up with the Terran Empire as a professional hit droid. With status, money and a woman (or whatever) on every planet, Pineapples had to be forcibly recruited into The Warriors when they banded together to take on the Terran super-ship Hellbringer.

An interesting wardrobe he may have, but Pineapples has, of recent times, reverted back to his perennial favourite, the leather jacket. Still the best assassin in the galaxy (a fact he's not afraid to point out to anyone whos asks), Pineapples maintains a hidden fortress on a distant asteroid, where he keeps his extensive - and exotic - armoury. He returned to Mars to help increase the peace between Medusa, the planetary consciousness, and her human settlers. However, civil war has broken out across the red planet, and a squad of seven robots are being dispatched to deal with The ABC Warriors...
