HAPPY SHRAPNEL

Happy Shrapnel by Mike McMahon

A crustly ol' robot, Hap had seen a lot of action in his time - some would say too much. He was cantankerous and corroded, but with a heart of pure plantinum! Formerly a member of the 3rd Warborgers, and the only survivor of 'H'-Day, Happy's favourite weapons were a pair of Kolt 45's "borrowed" from a Volgan General.

Hap also had ten counts of electro-discipline for looting and brawling. Unfortunately, his rowdy ways led to his demise, and he was killed in a brawl soon after the Mars mission.

THE MESS

Steelhorn was the handsome and indestructable robot who struck the final blow in the ABC War. After seeing so much death and bloodshed, he decided to become a pacifist in a bid to help save lives rather than take them. However, in the eyes of some ABC Warriors, he was a disgrace to all war robots. Steelhorn, his mind made up, entered a de-mob camp to have the necessary re-programming done, only to be double-crossed by his human masters. Seeing there was no more need for war droids, they had set about systematically destroying them with the camps as a cover story.

Steelhorn was thrown into a fusion furnace and miraculously survived, but his body had been reduced to a hideous, metallic, boiling mess, burning with hatred for his his would-be destroyers. After taking his revenge on the humans responsible, 'The Mess' was recruited for the Mars mission by Hammerstein, and kept in a vacuum flask, carried by Mongrol.

The Mess by Mike McMahon

While on Mars, The Warriors encountered a giant robot called George, one of the original Garganteks - giant robots who had originally helped terraform Mars for human colonization. Because of his size, George had been given five brains to control his body, with each limb controlled by a seperate brain, and a master brain supposedly in charge. During an encounter with the Biol Corporation, The Warriors had enlisted George's help and turned him into a formidable fighting machine, by taking control of each of his brains.

After claiming he wished to die, George was left to the mercy of the Biol troops. Mongrol had left The Mess's vacuum flask inside the giant, which had split open during a bombardment of the old Gargantek, allowing the mess to run free and connect George's brains, thus turning the giant into a fearsome colossus.

Medusa, the once-dormant consciousness of Mars, destroyed George for the crime of terraforming her. She decoded The Mess's memories from the molten plasma and used the giants remains to give it a new body...

MAD RONN

Mad Ronn by Bryan TalbotDuring the Volgan War, Ronn had been a 'sniffer' robot - a bomb disposal expert - and his snout contained the most sensitive electronic sensors. Along with Hammerstein and Hitaki, Ronn was reactivated by The Terminators to assist in the overthrow of The Gothic Empire. After committing what was seen as a treasonous act (failing to report Hammerstein after he refused to kill some native Goths), he was sentenced to execution with his comrades. However, he was given a last minute reprieve and re-programmed to carry out a suicide mission: assassinate the Goth Queen, Victoria. After the attempt was foiled by Nemesis, The Warlock recruited both Ronn and Hitaki into the newly re-formed ABC Warriors as replacements for Happy Shrapnel and The Mess.

Ronn died while trying to defuse a bomb a group of Terminators had planted on a space-liner full of alien refugees. Most of the passengers were away in the life-pods when the ship exploded.

HITAKI

Programmed to act like the Samurai and Kamikazes of old, Hitaki had been built by the Black Dragon Kai, a secret society dedicated to restoring the Japanese Empire. Like several other ABC War robots, he was brought back into service by The Terminators, and served alongside Hammerstein and Mad Ronn in the siege of The Gothic Empire. After narrowly escaping a death sentence, Hitaki was re-programmed and sent on a suicide mission, to assassinate Queen Victoria, ruler of the Gothic Empire. Fortunately, the attempt was foiled by Nemesis, and The Warlock recruited Hitaki and Mad Ronn into the re-formed ABC Warriors as replacements for Happy Shrapnel and The Mess.

Hitaki met his fate at the end of the world, battling The Monad. Although only his head was removed during the battle, his body was rendered useless after Mek-Quake inadvertantly crushed it.

TERRI

Terri by S.M.S.

Probably the most interesting member to ever join the team, Terri was a human who had actually come to believe she was a robot. She had been raised in captivity by The Mekaniks (a group of robots who were assigned to protect the tomb of Emperor Zallin), and all of her life, she had tried to imitate her masters, making her body hard and muscular and trying to turn her soft skin into steel, like a robot. She'd even managed to teach herself to absorb pain without flinching - just like her masters. With The Mekaniks, Terri came to learn the values of efficiency and recycling (which led to her cannabilistic tendancies), and eventually gave birth to a child, Wayne. The Mekaniks awarded her three productivity stars for her effort and allowed her to go on patrol with a squad of 'Rim Riders,' Mekanik bikers watching for intruders.

It was during this patrol that The Mekaniks had their first encounter with The Warriors, mistakenly believing they were there to destroy the Blackhole control room, hidden in Zallin's tomb. Terri (or Terra-1 as she was designated by The Mekaniks) was captured, and mistook Hammerstein for Craig, the father of her baby. She had been artificially impregnated by The Mekaniks (for reasons never made clear), and had always pictured 'Craig' as looking exactly like Hammerstein.

After betraying The Warriors, Terri's baby was killed by her former masters, leading her to see how 'ineffecient' The Mekaniks actually were. She managed to save Hammerstein's life during The Warriors second confrontation, leading Deadlock to make her the seventh Warrior, in place of Ro-Jaws.

Terri and Hammerstein became fiercely loyal to each other in the short time they were together, and made plans to find a small planet to settle down when their mission was complete. Unfortunately, Terri died during The Warrior's final battle with The Monad.

MORRIGUN

After escaping Terra, The Warriors headed to the planet Hekate to become inducted as agents of Khaos. Losing Terri during their confrontation with The Monad, The Warriors needed a seventh member to draw on the mystical properties of that number, and they found it in the shape of Morrigun.

Morrigun by Kevin WalkerShe was working as a waitress in The Piston Broke bar when The Warriors recruited her. Not only was she fitted with the "Bouncer" Mark 3 logic chip, she was also an expert in the martial art of Nekra Chi, and an accomplished weilder of Moon Flails. Her favourite choice of weapon, however, was the Pentang, metal throwing stars powered by Khaos itself. As a field test, she was given the task of retrieving one of the seven heads The Warriors needed, a task which she carried out admirably.

After a run in with some Terran scientists based on Hekate, Morrigun gained herself a new body, replacing the red paint job with a new black version. When The Warriors completed their task and collected the seven heads, Morrigun took her leave (with her 'pet' Mongrol in tow) and went to study with the Night Maras, the Priestesses of Khaos on Hekate.

Ten years passed. The Mara's, knowing of Deadlock's quest to stop the Terran ship Hellbringer, sent Morrigun and Mongrol to re-join The Warriors on their mission. Morrigun had also learnt some more mystical ways from her 'sisters,' something which she was reluctant to tell the others about.

She met her fate during The Warriors return visit to Mars. In an attempt to stop Trimorph terrorist attacks, the human colonists sent biohazard troops to round up the native Martians and clear out their ghettos. It was during one such operation The ABC Warriors made their presence known, and engaged the humans in battle. The biohazard troops unleashed a new generation of atomic, bacterial and chemical weapons, which slowly destroyed the Warriors' metal shells. They fought on, and Morrigun gave her life to save a Trimorph from the path of an oncoming tank. Her body was crushed beyond repair.

Morrigun was buried on Mars.
