Since the rise (and eventual fall) of the legendary Emperor Zallin, the human race has spread out across the galaxy at an alarming rate. With the aid of the Blackhole Bypass, built during Terra's Classical Period, the humans have fashioned themselves a bridge to the stars, and used it to conquer a thousand planets.

After Zallin's eventual death, the Empire remained as his legacy. However, during the reign of one of his ancestors, Thano the Third, the Empire began to decay. Eventually a new Dark Age of great excess was entered, and the inevitable backlash was lead by the chief of the Termight Tube Police Tomas De Torquemada.

Inspiring a new Holy Crusade against the deviants of the galaxy (ie, anyone who wasn't human), Torquemada's armies, The Terminators, have torn their way across the cosmos once more, 'cleansing' alien planets as they went. Slowly, the Terran Empire began to expand even further, leaving inhabitants of the still unconquered Fringe World planets to live in all consuming fear of a cleansing invasion...

The map shows the divisions across the galaxy. The infamous Gothic Empire still remains unconquered largely due to Nemesis and The ABC Warriors, while the Nether Worlds still remain a mystery to many.
